It is fact that your heartbeat changes with the music you listen to. Music has a physiologic effect to both our bodies and minds. As a music therapist, I know change can be sparked through the intentional and meaningful use of music. BPM Music Therapy is about bringing the power of music (beats), process, and meaning together through evidence based practices of music therapy.

From working in perinatal care to end of life and bereavement, I’ve witnessed and helped patients and their families navigate some of the most sensitive, delicate, and challenging times in life through the music therapy process. The implication of music being brought to highly sensitive areas like the hospital, or at times of high stress can be profound. Board certified music therapists are trained to bring music to these spaces safely and effectively.

My personal goal as a music therapy provider is to support clients and families through life’s challenges and from these challenges, to help establish healing and meaning. Music allows for expression and connection beyond words, creating meaning in times that may otherwise feel hard to express or intellectualize.
